Job Summary

ActiveProspect is seeking a  Inside Sales Representative who is responsible for driving new business within a designated vertical by managing both outbound and  inbound opportunities and proactively pursuing lower-value targets. This role carries an individual quota and focuses on closing deals valued at $18K/year or less. The Inside Sales Representative will build relationships with prospective customers, understand their business needs, and position our solutions to deliver measurable value. Success in this role requires strong sales acumen, consistent pipeline management, and the ability to close opportunities efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute outbound campaigns to engage top target accounts, while proactively pursuing and closing mid- to low mid market  opportunities to maintain a healthy, consistent pipeline.
  • Drive outbound engagement with high-potential targets and close new business across priority verticals to fuel steady pipeline growth.
  • Balance strategic outbound prospecting with the proactive conversion of smaller opportunities to hit and exceed monthly pipeline goals.
  • Manage inbound opportunities by quickly qualifying leads, assessing needs, and positioning the right solutions.
  • Proactively pursue and close lower-value targets within the assigned vertical to build a consistent pipeline.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales quota, ensuring deals align with the <$18K/year target (or land-and-expand trajectory).
  • Conduct product demos and presentations to prospective customers, tailoring messaging to their business needs.
  • Negotiate contract terms and close sales opportunities while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Customer Success to align strategies and ensure smooth handoffs.
  • Accurately maintain CRM records, documenting activity, pipeline stages, and forecasts.
  • Stay current with product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor offerings to effectively position solutions.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on customer needs and market trends to help shape future strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the assigned vertical, including industry challenges and customer buying behaviors.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.
  • Use data and insights to identify cross-sell or upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Partner with Marketing to provide feedback on campaign effectiveness and lead quality.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineers or Product Specialists when technical expertise is required during the sales process.
  • Act as the “first point of contact” for prospects, delivering a positive and professional customer experience.
  • Leverage sales enablement tools and resources to improve efficiency and effectiveness in prospecting and closing.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and role-plays to continuously sharpen sales skills.
  • Consistently contribute to a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance within the sales team.
  • Other duties as requested.
 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Direct experience selling into or supporting the Home Services industry, such as HVAC, roofing, plumbing, solar, pest control, or similar service-based businesses.
  • 2+ years of quota-carrying inside sales experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology-enabled environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets in a high-velocity sales motion.
  • Strong ability to communicate value propositions clearly and concisely for SaaS or data-driven solutions.
  • Comfortable engaging prospects via phone, email, and video, with a professional and confident presence.
  • Displays a positive, resilient attitude and thrives in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day work as priorities shift.
  • Shows initiative and curiosity, actively seeking answers to product, technical, and industry-related questions.
  • Sets high standards for personal performance and takes ownership of results.
  • Establishes strong working relationships with teammates and cross-functional partners.
  • Appreciates collaboration and values the contributions of others.
  • Ability to work efficiently and patiently as part of a small, rapidly growing sales team.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
